High-quality in-place recycling of asphalt layers

  • Cold In-place Recycling (CIR) and Full Depth Reclamation (FDR): the CR series machines are used as part of a paving train for the economical cold in-place recycling of road pavements in a single pass adding cement, emulsion or foamed bitumen, featuring a mixing capacity of up to 787.2 t / h (800 t / h).
  • Traffic lanes are rehabilitated quickly and easily using the compact W 240 CR / W 240 CRi cold recycler with integrated paving screed.
  • Lateral premilling gives the cold recyclers the flexibility needed to rehabilitate road pavements in a single pass even at widths exceeding the machine’s working width.
  • The cold recyclers can also be used as high-performance milling machines or to granulate pavement structures.

  • Mixing procedures: Cold recycling can be achieved either in-plant by hauling material recovered from an existing road to a central depot where it is fed through a mixing unit, or in-place using a recycling machine. When mixing in-place / in-situ, a cold recycler granulates the existing pavement while mixing in binders and water homogeneously at the same time. When mixing in-plant, reclaimed asphalt pavement and crushed stone are transported to a mixing plant located in the vicinity of the construction site. Cold recycling can be achieved either in-plant by hauling material recovered from an existing road to a central depot where it is fed through a mixing unit, or in-place using a recycling machine. When mixing in-place / in-situ, a cold recycler granulates the existing pavement while mixing in binders and water homogeneously at the same time. If the CR is equipped with a built-in paving screed, the mix is conveyed towards the centre as a result of the helical design of the milling and mixing rotor and subsequently transported to the paving unit via the primary conveyor. The spreading auger distributes the material evenly ahead of the variable paving screed which then paves it true to grade and slope.
