How can we help?

Description

Rehabilitation of asphalt surfaces in a single operation

  • Powerful, individually connectable infrared heaters heat the asphalt concrete gently and evenly.
  • In the Remix method, the twin-shaft pugmill mixer achieves consistent and homogeneous mixing results after the surface has been scarified with a microprocessor-controlled addition of binding agents and mixed material.
  • In the Remix Plus method, an additional surface layer is added on top of the mixing result in a “hot-in-hot” application in one single operation.
  • The tried and tested VÖGELE paving screed with a tamping and vibrating unit achieves optimum pre-compaction results in regard to the recycled road surface.

Features

  • Mixing procedures: Cold recycling can be achieved either in-plant by hauling material recovered from an existing road to a central depot where it is fed through a mixing unit, or in-place using a recycling machine. When mixing in-place / in-situ, a cold recycler granulates the existing pavement while mixing in binders and water homogeneously at the same time. When mixing in-plant, reclaimed asphalt pavement and crushed stone are transported to a mixing plant located in the vicinity of the construction site. • Hot recycling: Provided that the lower pavement layers are intact in terms of bearing capacity, hot recycling is the most economical and environmentally friendly rehabilitation method for asphalt surface courses. Many different types of surface damage extending to a depth of up to 5 cm on main traffic arteries, minor roads, motorways or airports – such as rutting, cracking, lack of skid resistance, pavement irregularities, incorrect aggregate composition or excessive bitumen content – are repaired by the high-performance machines from WIRTGEN on a large scale and in an extremely short period of time. • Control technology: WIRTGEN machines are fitted with a machine control system of the highest quality, in which the large proportion of software developed in-house plays the decisive role. WIRTGEN puts a special focus on continuous improvement, which has the added effect of significantly increasing the operational reliability of the machines. In addition, many years of experience in software and hardware development allow for higher and more flexible machine functionality in terms of applications and meeting specific customer requirements.
