Sales Manager

The team at Coastline is looking to hire a Sales Manager at their Long Beach, CA branch and look to find an enthusiastic candidate to round out the team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Sales Management and Coaching: Manage and coach sales professionals to implement sales processes and strategies. Travel with outside sales personnel weekly to assess performance and foster customer relationships. Create development plans for sales professionals, including training needs and certification schedules.
  • Performance Evaluation: Conduct monthly one-on-one evaluations with sales staff, reviewing duties such as call scheduling and sales certification. Perform biannual evaluations focusing on branch and company goals, including volume, unit sales, market share, and business plan targets.
  • Meetings and Training: Hold branch sales meetings monthly or bi-monthly to discuss market conditions, competition, internal programs, and provide training. Share best practices within the branch and company wide.
  • Sales Process and Customer Experience: Follow a consistent sales process to drive optimal financial, market, and customer performance. Collaborate with Parts Managers, Service Managers, Dispatchers, and the Corporate Used Equipment Manager to ensure best-in-class customer experience.
  • Recruitment and Staffing: Recruit, staff, and develop employees under the direction of the Branch Manager and corporate recruiting.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels as directed by Corporate.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Leadership: Teaching and coaching sales professionals on techniques and processes.
  • Sales Management Experience: 5+ years of experience in Sales Department operations.
  • Software Proficiency: Ability to use standard desktop applications like Microsoft Office and internet functions.
  • Report Analysis: Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports.
  • Communication Skills: Effective writing and speaking skills for individuals and groups.
  • Customer Service: Excellent customer service skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Driving: Must be able to drive and travel in a vehicle. For the purposes of driving, must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Work Flexibility: Ability to work extended hours and weekends.
  • Physical Demands: Standard office environment with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. May occasionally require standing or moving between office areas.
