Field Lube Technician
Posted on: Sep 26, 2024John Deere Construction Equipment Dealership with multiple locations serving Southern California, Nevada and Idaho is looking for a Field Lube Technician for our Meridian, Idaho location.
Responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks as called out by the owner’s manual. Performs machine inspections and documents potential repairs on work orders. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager, Service Location Manager, Shop Foreman or senior technicians.
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs preventive maintenance services as per manufacturer recommendations on heavy equipment. To include the changing of oils, fluids, filters and other routine maintenance items.
- Performs minor machine repairs using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and specialized tooling
- Maintains a high level of customer satisfaction, with excellent work ethic, neat appearance and good communications skills.
- Performs maintenance tasks on all John Deere equipment at suggested intervals
- Performs required work quickly and efficiently within standard job times
- Performs repairs on all makes and models of equipment
- Inspects machine during routine maintenance to identify any additional repairs noting them on the work order
- Accountable for billable time and assigned work orders
- Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of repairs performed on work orders and on time submittal of information
- May participate in service training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
- Operates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilities
- Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
- Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
- Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products

Required Qualifications:
- Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment used in machinery routine maintenance
- Experience with the mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in off road, construction, lawn, or heavy equipment
- Experience with basic computer functions; experience using Service ADVISOR™ preferred or other computer based diagnostic repair tools preferred
- Experience working cooperatively in a team environment
- Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing
- Must have an adequate toolset to perform job responsibilities
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required

Minimum qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Authorized to work in the US.
- Valid driver’s license required

Physical Demands:
- Must be able to pass initial and random drug testing
- Must be able to drive and travel in a vehicle.
- Due to safety regulations, you must be 21 to apply.
- Physically able to work on heavy/diesel equipment.
- Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Will be required to work in settings with extreme cold or extreme heat, depending on time of year.
- Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crawling, or climbing ladders.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
